What is the best teacher resource?

The amount of money that teachers spend on resources for their students is an altruistic act that should be tax deductable. 

However, what is the best teacher resource? It is you. 

It is you when you have a clear mind to focus on your students. It is that naive optimism of a young teacher not hardened by the realities and fatigue of teaching. The best resource in society are enthusiastic and talented teachers that bring their personality to the classroom. There are many stories from students about the impact teachers had on them. While excellent lessons are the cornerstone of any teacher, the things that we all remember is the time that teachers took an interest in us. Not just the students that are easy to talk to, but the ones who are shy, unangelic, and somewhat awkward. This is the gift of teachers who often see their students for longer in a day than their parents. 

So, what has this got to do with your own financial planning? Why would that matter to your students? It matters because we need teachers that are financially set up so they can focus on their teaching. We need teachers that are content in their mind about their retirement plans. 

If you feel like you are distracted or feeling low about your finances, then you need to do something proactive about it and put in the time to fix it. Just like you would want your students to go home and relearn the new learning for the day, you need to have the same expectations of yourself.
